I have exact same problem with another machine: I tried with a different switch with same result. I reinstalled CentOS 5. Even some clues on how to install the kernel sources would be appreciated.

broken e network interface? – CentOS
This machine has a supermicro X5DA8 motherboard with dual xeons, an onboard gigabit card, and an additional gigabit card we’ve put in it it’s on two network simultaneously. Anyone could come up with a solution to this problem?

I ended up scrapping the 4 cards and going with Netgear cards which use the realtek driver, and work without a hitch!
